What this workshop is about
This free workshop offers one-on-one tax preparation help for individuals and families. Volunteers will guide you through filing basic returns, answer common questions, and make sure you leave with confidence. The goal is to make tax season less stressful and to help community members claim credits and refunds they are eligible for.
Who should attend
- Individuals and families with simple to moderately complex tax situations
- First-time filers who want step-by-step help
- Anyone who needs assistance gathering and organizing documents before filing
What to bring (required)
To ensure we can complete your return on the day, please bring:
- Last year’s tax return
- Valid photo ID for everyone on the return
- Social Security cards or ITIN notices (for all household members)
- W-2s, 1099s, or other income statements for the tax year
- Proof of address (utility bill, lease, etc.) if needed
- Documentation for deductions or credits (student loan interest, childcare, education, etc.)
Incomplete documents will not be accepted, so please double-check everything before you arrive.

Why it’s worth attending
Having the right documents and a trained preparer helps avoid common errors that can delay refunds or trigger follow-up requests. This workshop provides free, reliable help from people experienced in community tax services and familiar with benefits and credits available to families.
